Any excuse not to do laundry....

Where are we today ?
Rockport Texas
Today's plans is to do laundry, just because we need to and it is supposed to be overcast and rainy most of the day. So a few walkabouts first thing after coffees and computing then ready for chores.
keep the washroom doors closed please
OOpps got a text message from our friends Rob and Pat at 8:30am. Do we want to ride along to Corpus Christi to a book exchange and a favourite grocery store of theirs. Well we never say know to looking for a new book exchange so.
Guess what?  No laundry gonna be done now, we put on our cleanest dirty clothes and away we went.
First stop along the way is at Books Ink in the Crescent Shopping Center ,Portland Texas. A small corner used book store that took all of our slightly read books (about 8 of them). We found another eight good quality books that we we were looking for only twenty dollars, still a good deal, now I think we are stocked up pretty well until summer? Both bookcases full plus a huge bag in reserve. Hey its always a lot of fun seeking out these small friendly bookstores.
Rob finding books to top up his supply too
After here, a couple more stops, another book store looking for one particular book, but to no avail. Pat into the Hobby Lobby for stuff then its noon, time to put on the feed bag.
Now it just so happens that there is a Golden Corral right next door, so into there for the lunch buffet for seniors.
Well is just too many choices but all good and very reasonable. So much, what to eat, salads, chicken, pork, beef, fish, shrimp, burgers, potatoes, veggies, chinese, mexican, deserts the list goes on and on. Well we sampled and we sampled unable to try even a small bite of everything, but sure got a belly full.
After a short while our other friends John and Barb showed up here and joined us as well. Now thats it time to waddle out of here and head back toward home.
But not yet, almost forgot the real reason we came to Corpus Christi was to go shopping at Sprouts Farmers Market for some specialty food, and health foods that Rob and Pat like to buy, some gluten free and speciial cereals etc... Kinda reminded me of a Trader Joe's.
Now on the road again, but came across a Harbor Freight, just down the road! Now us guys just have to stop here and look at stuff, tools and stuff, lotsa cool stuff. Ladies they relaxed in the car while we just looked at all the great tools we could buy, but didn't.
Now all this shopping sure makes a person thirsty so back to their house for our car, but first a quick beverage and relax for a few minutes. Awe.. so nice, boy that sure does make a person work up a thirst.
But allas its time to thank our friends for the fun shopping day, great lunch and head back to our house just a couple miles down the road, just in time for supper. NOT!
We can read a bit, catch up on emails and of course post the bog for today. Maybe even watch a bit of tv too.
Did not really rain much today like they promised and stayed quite warm around 70f but fairly windy. Not great biut still a lot better than that cold white stuff they have back home.
Thanks for stopping by again and hope you a great day too.

  2. We have a Sprouts here in Corona, along with the health foods they do have some good deals on produce compared to the supermarkets. Wow! got your share of buffets this year when you add in your casino visits. Hard to pass up when they offer a nice senior discount. Well your trip sure beat doing that laundry. Have a great Thursday!
