Another plumbing repair, and we missed the storm

Where are we today ?
Plattsville Ontario
Up early this morning as usual after a great nights sleep. On the agenda today stop by ma's in Waterloo and repair yet another Moen tap by replacing the free cartridge. Of course this one gave me a hard time as well. The original taps 18 years ago and hard water plays havoc on plumbing fixtures. Then we had a nice visit with ma and my sister then back to our coach in Plattsville.
We missed the thunderstorm while we were gone, just noticed the tail end of the stormy looking skies leaving town as we got back home. Apparently there was quite a heavy downpour and not much in Waterloo , 20 minutes away.
Plattsville is the other side of the bush
By the time we had a quick bite to eat for lunch, clear blue skies, hot and sunny. Now we had some time to just relax with our books in the shade, even had time to give me a haircut and beard trim too, with the help my personal hairdesser Suzie doing the final touches on the back of my neck. Nice and cool again.
The day just slipped by and before we know it's time to fire up our Weber to grill a couple of bone in chicken breasts, potatoes in foil with onions and a tasty cob of corn.

Tasty
Just a nice almost normal day, not too busy and time to relax for a bit. Even sat by the pool and visit with John and Lea to chat for a while after supper, such a beautiful summer evening.
        Thanks for the read.

  2. I sure wish I could convince my wife to cut my hair. It can't be that difficult since I like it short, I just can't reach around the back is all. One of these days she might agree to do it.

    1. Electric clippers about $20.00 use attachment for length you like. I use #2 for hair and beard, #1 for moustache. And so it all. She check it iver then takes the attachment off and does my neck at the back. Easy, convenient and saves a lot of money. Maybe new clippers evrey 6 -7 years.

  3. Those storms come and go very fast in your area. Looks like the afternoon more then made up for it. Sure nice having that farm fresh corn. Have a nice Wednesday.

  4. Good news on the storms missing you.

I noticed you grilled corn on the cob with the husks off while others I've seen do it with the husks on. I've never tried either way so I wonder if there's a difference?

    1. Either way is good, just soak in water for a while, we only had one cob and it was husked already from sunday, If its good corn a little butter and touch of salt is all good. Don't need to cook it just get it hot.

  5. I have a corn question also Mr. Chef.....we were served corn on the cob last night that had been wrapped in foil on the BBQ ( no husk ) for 20 minutes. How long do you leave yours on without foil....so that it is soft to eat but not burnt, with no husk?

    1. Me just plain George who likes to cook. Soak in water and on low heat turn frequently about 20 minutes until it is heated thru works fo me. As it gets dark the sugars come out and gets sweeter just like carrots.

  6. Do you close the lid on the BBQ?

    1. Keep closed as much as possible,Wrapping in foil or with husks makes it foolproof, especially if you don't want any burnt areas.
