Mon. Oct. 10th, Thanksgiving Monday

Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
 since August 2006

Today is our Canadian Thanksgiving Day, Monday is a holiday and we are getting together with my family today. They are all coming to the farm, my three children and their spouses,  5 grandchildren, brother and his wife and our mother. Sister and her family could not make she just had a knee replacement surgery.

First thing this morning we took a drive looking for Omer he wandered off somewhere playing with his buddies groundhogs, skunks etc.... he finally returned not smelling skunky, (thank goodness).

Now we can get ready for the company, set up table and chairs outside, away from the black walnut trees, they would hurt if they hit you on the head. Got out toys for the kids, heat up the turkey and turkey soup.
black walnuts still in the trees
When they arrived Andrew was the only one dressed the right way, gotta love kids!

This is a working dairy farm and always something going on, lots for the kids to see.

We played for a while chatted and once everyone was there time to eat, we had lots of good food, turkey, buns, saladas, glutten free pasta, gluten free cheesecake and mothers famous tarts, brownies and banana muffins.

then more playing, work off supper

Ken test driving the lawn mower
Then more chatting hanging out, visit the cows, carve the pumpkins, and my son even took a test drive on the fun lawn mower. Now before we know its getting late and everybody has to return home, for work and school tomorrow, after a real great family get together saying so long for now, and as our one grandson said a few years ago "see you again Grandad and Gramma, after Christmas when the snow is gone".

Now we have had all this great family time, way too much good food and so much to be thankful for. We just have a few things to do around here, wrap up some loose ends before we head south.

Thanks for joining our Thanksgiving get together.

Yes we have always done a big Thanksgiving get together, then Christmas might happen whenever, so really works now that we are taking off soon.

Andrew really enjoys hanging out with me too!
