Thurs. Sept. 22nd. Last day of summer

Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
 since August 2006

This is the last day of summer and we have had a pretty good one. To celebrate the weather decided to give us one more fantastic day.  It was mild overnight and a bright sunny morning that stayed with us all day.

Up early as usual our friend Karen came over for morning coffees with us and chit chat ( just like we did many years ago in Algonquin park). She brought along a delicious homemade zucchini loaf to nibble on as well. After this walkabouts and a quick trip to town for a few items. We puttered around for a while then outside to read on such a gorgeous day even Karen's dog Fiona and Siamese cat Leo enjoy the outside.
perfect day
Fiona

Leo likes camping too.

Before we knew it was time for lunch and Karen brought a very tasty pizza for us to nibble on, keep us going for the rest of the day! Oh and Moose Tracks ice cream for desert as well.
lunch time snack?
Now read and chat some more, enjoy the beautiful weather, then I helped out neighbor Mary with her satellite receiver, the remote needed new batteries. Every so often I would take a walkabout and check Fred's progress on his tree stump carvings. I believe its going to be a baby bear sitting on a large bears shoulders.

can you see it taking shape?
Then a bit more relaxing, chatting, Suzie playing with the dog and happy hour then before we know it time supper.

Karen had made some cabbage rolls and schnitzel ahead of time so she reheated in the oven for supper (soo tasty!) along with some very sweet and juicy fresh white corn on the cob.

such a tasty meal
This was followed by an extremely good homebaked blueberry pie for desert.
then we have Leo wanting to check me out
After a great day it was still a nice night so outside to enjoy our propane firepit, with full tummies, to chat and savor the wonderful nightime air and star filled skies.
another nice fire
Finally good times come to and end, turn off the fire and call it a night much later than usual for us, after a perfect day for the last one of summer this year!

I can see the wood carving taking shape, very interesting in the short amount of time he has worked on it.
