Tues. Aug.2nd, Back to normal...

Join us as we travel North America in our
Holiday Rambler Vacationer, since August 2006

The long weekend is over, most of the kids and adults are gone, pretty quiet for a few days. It's supposed to be hot, humid and sunny, but in reality its not too bad. Overcast, mostly and temperatures around 85f (30c).

After coffees, computing and walkabouts I think a good day to give our fridge and freezer a good cleaning. So unload it all into a couple of large cooler bags and get at it. All cleaned up and back together in time for lunch then we can putter around some more .

Read in the shade for a while and listen to some light rain showers cool things down a smidgen. Just love a warm summer rain under our awning. About 4 pm Rob and Pat dropped by for a short happy hour then we decided to check out Scotty's Fish and Chips in Forest. We had heard that every Tuesday they have an all-you-can-eat special for $8.99, so off we went for the short drive.

so tasty
This a small ma and pa operation with about a dozen tables and arriving at 5pm we got the last 4 seats next to a dozen other campers from Rock Glen. The service was pretty good with one waitress, the place just a buzzing and people waiting for seats. The fish and chips were quite tasty, (fresh cut fries, coleslaw and a fairly light crispy batter on whitefish) cooked to order, she just kept bringing more fish until we told her stop.

After this tasty feast we headed back home to relax outside a bit more chatting with the neighbors and calling it an early night for a change to watch our favourite tv shows NCIS.

  1. Sounds like the weather is pretty good, just like it should be for summer.

The fridge is on my list today. Did the freezer a week or two ago and I've cleaned the bins in the fridge, now I just have to wipe it all down. The stove will be tomorrow's job.

Yes nice summer weather, should be the same for you guys.
Always a few little jobs to do, when the mood strikes us.

  3. You seem so organized George. Do you have a check list that you rotate through for all the RV to do's?

No checklist, just get up in the morning, check the weather, think of things that could be done, then if I feel like it do something, if not maybe another day. That the beauty about retirement.
