Happy Thanksgiving !

Well after searching and searching we finally spotted the turkey in our living room disguised as a lamp! ( he sneezed yesterday as somebody walked by). So today we can have our turkey dinner with my family.

Today began the day with a surprize, Omer the dog has been playing all night with the skunks again,(he must have known we were having company). Suzie starts off the day with giving him a bath in the yard with our awesome homemade skunk recipe, peroxide, baking soda etc..

By noon we were ready for company, Omer smelling nice again, the yard set up and the turkey carved, keeping moist and warm. With the weather holding out my oldest daughter showed up with three grandchildren and the two boys right away to the sandbox and play area.

As the day progressed, we had sunshine, rain, cloudy and even hail!
Well we had our awning, everybody had warm coats and sweaters, so for a few short periods we huddled under the awning, then the sun would come out so back in the open. The four boys did not care, they were burning up energy playing soccer and running about even in the drizzle.

There was oddles of food as everybody brought lots to go with the turkey, buns and cranberries, we had potato salad, greek salad, pasta salad, devilled eggs, cheese and pickle tray, veggies and dip, fresh baked cornbread, and the famous butter tarts, brownies and muffins supplied by my mother. After our repast, I helped the boys carve two pumpkins.  Lots of fun digging out the pumpkin brains, making a design and carving.

Well a bit more playing, chatting and nibbling, the afternoon dwindled away and was starting to get chillier with the clouds returning and the treat of more rain. We said our good byes, promising to all get together  "After Christmas, when the snow is gone" as our oldest grandson would say.
A great family day again, so much to be thank full for, and lots of great memories and pictures to enjoy for us all. We tidied up a bit the called it a night.
